What is MetroBizzle?
It is an idea I have to provide a quick/dirty/cheap web solution for small businesses.
Here is how I see it working…
I use Google sites to host a main site (calling it MetroBizzle which is a play on Metropolitan + Business with a Snoop Dogg flair). I then create a page (or a few) for a potential customer. It’s a site built using Google sites so if the customer has a Google account, the page can be shared out for the customer to modify. If not, I can do the updates. The small page will be a quick representation of the small business.
The page can be used as a gateway to other online sources. Those sources can be a facebook page, twitter, linkedin, etc.
The concept revolves around the idea to keep the control with the customer using already existing social networking.
Web 1.0 (website with graphics and content) is shrinking somewhat. The costs to maintain a website is not great but for a small business it can be a hassle and I have come up with an idea to save some of the money. Web 2.0 (social networks like Facebook) is where your online visitors (customers) do most of their interaction.
My idea is not scaled for larger business who invest heavily in their brand and marketing.
So… if you have a small business (contractor, service provider, selling widgets, etc) check it out.
